A big part of our modern deluge of problems is the fact that there simply is no space left for waste. That is what is so great about recycling, especially when it comes to a packaging option as cost-effective and environmentally friendly as PET plastic.

Now that we know that it is possible for a car rental company to be super serious about their water and carbon footprints, what are they doing about their waste? Avis has invested significantly in the implementation of a comprehensive waste management programme throughout the business.

My reason for choosing the 'Coffee-Can Drum' craft is; when I observe a young child banging on different surfaces two things becomes very clear; tapping on things comes very natural to us and forms part of how we discover this world. 

A range of delightful lighting: standing lamps, desk lamps, pendant fittings and chandeliers, are handcrafted in Cape Town, using materials that are as eco-friendly as can be.

Designed and made (until the workshop is up and running) by architect Andy Horn, they follow his passion for the respect and understanding of nature and natural elements, and how best they can be applied in our living, working and recreational spaces.
