Would you like to combine these passions and write poetry that speaks through creativity and imagination to the heart, mind and soul? The Green Times is starting a poetry corner and you could see your poem published there. Poet and story-teller Dorian Haarhoff (pictured) can show you how to write with energy and detailed observation.

Dorian is offering a one-on-one Planet Poetry Course (PPC) which teaches creating and crafting. This course is structured in the nature of an ongoing conversation with Dorian and with yourself. Part of the learning is to read established poets (ancestral or alive) who deal with environmental themes. We engage via email, phone/skype.

You keep a journal as part of the learning. Your journal will reflect and make conscious the crafting process. i.e raising questions about the particular poems, problems encountered in the writing, insights, techniques, breakthroughs etc

The four month course is adapted to meet your needs and time schedules. During this time we'll discuss poems by nature poets and then you write 4 poems of your own. I comment, offer suggestions then you rework and resubmit the poems. And who knows? They might find their way into The Green Times

The course includes one of Dorian's poetry volumes, Tortoise Voices. Along the way he share his writing process with you as part of your conversation, passes on articles and refers you to relevant conversations.
