Children from various schools around the Cape Peninsula demonstrated their global commitment to sustainable packaging, water stewardship and ocean conservation when they gathered to pick up litter at Strandfontein Beach on Saturday, 12 September 2009. It was part of the 24th annual International Coastal Clean Up (ICC) which takes place globally on 19 September.

The PET recycling company trading as PETCO, Coca-Cola South Africa, Coca-Cola Canners and Collect-a-Can sponsored Madikwe Game Reserve with a baling machine in order to facilitate the recycling of packaging material used in the reserve.

Business innovation often increases during times of recession. Currently, many companies are moving to improve their operational efficiency and decrease their impact during the economic downturn. According to PenBev`s Manufacturing Director Greg Morse, the company has undergone significant changes in many areas of production and distribution.
