The next Green Beings River Rehab action day will take place at the Klein Jukskei Spruit on 24 October and volunteers are being called to come and help.
Green Beings’ on-going River Rehab project positively transforms our waterways. Through collaboration with community and local businesses, our river is cleaned and biodiversity is increased. The event will focus on planting indigenous trees in areas where alien vegetation has been cleared.

Green Beings
River Rehab has been growing momentum ever since it’s inception in 2012. On Saturday the 24th of October 2015 a tree planting River Rehab will take place at the Klien Jukskei Spruit. During the course of the year many alien invasive trees have been removed and tonnes of rubbish collected. It is therefore fundamental to reintroduce indigenous trees to combat soil erosion, attract local biodiversity and stabilise the river-banks. Environmentally focussed NGO, Green Beings, has collaborated with many stakeholders over the years to achieve River Rehab’s objectives.

Promoting remediation and use of natural areas adjoining rivers
This year, local businesses and active residents have united in a shared vision with Green Beings to expand and maximise impact. It is wonderful that all sectors are taking responsibility and actively taking part in collaborations that contribute towards conserving our natural environment. River Rehab is an on-going community project promotes the remediation and use of natural areas and parks adjoining rivers and streams.
The event is open to all volunteers and businesses that would like to take part in transforming the Klien Jukski Spruit River into a thriving environment whereby habitat and people can live in harmony with nature.
