To this end, Future Beyond has initiated a programme called Re(Em)Powering the Youth, which is aimed at providing training and capacitating youth to take advantage of opportunities in the renewable energy sector and to provide an empowerment platform. As part of this programme, Future Beyond is running a one-day workshop for the 1st November 2013 in Cape Town and we would be very appreciative if you can please pass on the invitation below to your readership and include our event on your Green Directory. The One-day Renewable Energy Introduction Workshop, is targeted at community-based participants, mainly young people with an interest in knowing about renewable energy and who intend finding opportunities in employment, training, business development, entrepreneurship or community development. The main objectives of the workshop in summary are to: •demystify the concept of renewable energy and its (potential) applications. •give introduction and provide basic details of various renewable energy sources. •describe the relevance of energy use and electricity in the homes and communities. •describe the value chain of renewable energy related installation/projects/services/products in order to show where people can tap into opportunities. •provide information about practicable ways in which the youth (and communities) could be involved in the renewable energy industry. The workshop is organised under the series of RE(Em)Powering the Youth Programmes, which are aimed at educating, creating awareness, capacitating and enabling youth to take advantage of opportunities in the renewable energy sector.
