| Description: | Participants: Widows and Widowers and partners processing their loss. People who have been bereaved suddenly or as a result of illness over the last two years. Venue: The Centre, 16 Summerley Rd, Kenilworth. Secure parking. Dates: Tuesday 17th July Tuesday 24th July Tuesday 31st July Tuesday 7th August Time: 6.30 pm – 8.00 pm Cost: R140 per session 1st Session: The rollercoaster ride of grief – assessing where you are on the grief journey – understanding the processes of grief. Difficult issues experienced in the grieving process. 2nd Session: The adjustment of aloneness and loneliness – coping strategies in the community of family/work/friends/faith. 3rd Session: The new role and identity patterns that develop -The importance of releasing the sadness, anger, disappointment and regret. 4th Session: New beginnings. Honoring of the place and contribution made by deceased partner. Measuring the difference made in our own lives – how have we changed? Format: There will be a measure of teaching input and group interaction facilitated by the trainers. There will be time to engage questions and to learn from each other in the challenges and opportunities grief presents. We will explore the path of developing personal resilience and growth through dealing with the pain and loss. No one will be pressured to share beyond what is comfortable for themselves.
