The REP course is presented by the AEE’s sole training partner for the Southern African region, the Energy Training Foundation (EnTF), and the course presenter is Dr S Roosa from the USA. The course covers the basics of renewable energy, wind power systems, solar thermal heating, photovoltaic generation, geothermal heating, electrical production, biofuels, waste-to-energy systems, energy storage, fuel cells, hydroelectric power, and ocean thermal energy. Become qualified in performing assessments of the various forms of renewable energy, identifying opportunities for RE, implementing strategies and building business cases, dealing with economic issues, financial methodologies, approval processes, and RE installations through case studies and lessons learned. After writing the prescribed examination, and receiving a 70% pass-mark, a candidate may apply for international recognition through certification, in accordance with the requirements of the AEE.
