Cape Town Flower Show 2016

An annual event, The Cape Town Flower Show takes place at the Castle of Good Hope in the centre of Cape Town.

The show brings together gardens and gardening, planting trends and designs for living outdoors; it unites notions of beauty, sanctuary and sustainability, and celebrates local food, culture and community through mutual interest in sustainable contexts.

A wide range of material will be featured, from ideas to product. All of it is topical and relevant, in a city that’s increasingly aware of its special place in the world. The show taps into a gardening culture that’s young, vibrant and identifies with a universal awareness for environmental care.

From beautiful spaces, vertical gardens and urban farming; to permaculture and waterwise gardening; from seeds, flowers and trees to garden decorating, outdoor living solutions and gardeners’ accessories, the Cape Town Flower Show is packed with information and know-how solutions and will have wide appeal on many levels.

The Show is a hub for discussion around all kinds of green issues such as biodiversity and urban food gardening; cities feeding themselves sustainably; recycling and the need to conserve communities championing local food, culture and urban agriculture. Because the show involves so many diverse groups, it is the ideal platform for stimulating debate across a wide range of topics.

Since the show is held in the heart of the Cape Floral Kingdom, the aim is to make the Cape Town Flower Show an important event on the world stage of flower shows.
