Colour Of Africa is Green Week
August 21, 2013 @ 08:00 - August 23, 2013 @ 17:00
Our essence of life comes from the Almighty and our home, Earth. As much as both may seem infinite, one is not. With the rapid and insatiable human indulgence for what we deem as necessity (both necessary and unnecessary) happening across the globe, we keep demanding more from earth than we care to replace.
Who will be to blame for the post-apocalyptic, dead and desiccated earth we will leave for future generations to come? We are in the process of scripting a masterpiece of the ultimate results of conscious and selfish over-indulgence. We will be to blame. The facts have been stated and we have heard them. As the old adage says, knowing is half the battle. What do we do next?
“If everything that forms a part of our lives spoke the same language of sustainability then our consciousness will align to one state” – Munya Marongwe.
The other half of the battle is taking action.
Possibilities are endless with a united Africa
Colour Of Africa is Green Week, abbreviated as COAGW, is Africa’s largest premier showcase week on sustainability practices and innovation which is held from 21-24 AUGUST in Harare, set to rotate across African countries. As illustrated by the name, it is an envisaged reality of not only what Africa is, but what it can achieve as a whole, together, oblivious to boundaries and borders, through informative and active participation of African countries in capacity building programmes, design and performing arts. They encourage the active participation of each citizen of our beloved continent.
This uniquely multi-faceted offering widens the impact on social and economic communities simultaneously. In a green spirited experience, COAG WEEK creates a platform which highlights and tackles challenges posed by environmental negligence. It also aims to bring about participation on intellectual and artistic levels in finding integrated solutions to help make our lives more sustainable - socially, economically and environmentally - in order to give future generations the priceless inheritance of the earth just as we have enjoyed it.
Riding on colossal and ever rising pioneer waves, COAG WEEK is a first of its kind, educative and interactive innovation for the sustainable development of Africa by Africans. COAG WEEK educates and empowers Africa’s citizens to assume responsibility for the sustainable development of our beautiful continent.

COAG WEEK and its activities was established to bring together key players and decision makers from various fields of expertise in a green spirited atmosphere of art and intellect to accumulate and qualify solutions for a broader sustainability impact. COAGW opens doors for strategic relationships to be formed with communities, governments and African business. This in turn will facilitate in the exchange and sharing of skills, which will empower people to create a positive change towards sustainability.
The success of COAG WEEK depends on the active participation of concerned citizens of Africa who with great passion and responsibility envision and act for the sustainable development of African communities. We warmly invite and welcome speakers, exhibitors, organizations, sponsors, partners, thinkers and citizens of Africa to take part in the inaugural event in Zimbabwe.
