People’s climate gathering outside Parliament

The Parliamentary gathering will take place between 12.30 to 1.30pm on Tuesday the 23rd September in front of the Louis Botha statue in Plein Street, to coincide with the start of the UN Climate Summit in New York.

Organisations are invited to add their names to a South African specific statement, which will be handed to a representative from either the Departments of the Environment or Energy or the Presidenc.,

A number of organisations will be present and have committed themselves to making brief statements on the 23rd , including:

· Green Anglicans
· The Southern African Faith Communities’ Environment Institute (SAFCEI)
· Project 90 by 2030
· People’s Health Movement
· WWF
· Waste Pickers Association
· WESSA
· AIDC
