Tanya graduated from the University of Cape Town with a degree in Film and Media Production. A multimedia content creator who loves the big-city life, she believes enjoying our modern lifestyle does not have to cost us the earth. She feels living consciously and thinking creatively is the key. The environmental heroes she meets while covering events for The Green Times are constant sources of inspiration.

Soninke is a BA student with majors in English, Environmental and Media Studies who is transferring from one university to another. With her passion for the earth she naturally fits into the Green Times team. With her interest in climate change and the environment, she wants to bridge the gap between science and the everyday person to help educate citizens about simple ways to go green.

Alice Ashwell lives in Marina da Gama with her husband Pat Garratt. She loves living in Cape Town, between the mountains and the sea. She is inspired by the love, care and commitment of South Africans who make a positive difference in their communities in every possible aspect of life. After working as a biochemist, Alice became a teacher, and later an environmental educator. Since 1999 she has had her own business, EnviroEds, specialising in nature experiences and environmental education. She obtained a PhD in Education from UCT in 2010.

Janis Theron is a full-time mom who loves writing and environmental education. She lives in Welcome Glen, Glencairn, and loves gardening, the beach, walking, animals and being with her boys. Her husband is an ecologist and avid fisherman. She studied a BA Journ at Rhodes University in the 80s and then followed up with an environmental education masters in 2003. Her ideal job would be outdoors involving children, nature and the written word.
