Now you can become a news creator. One of the great tricks included in our brand new platform is that we can now move towards our target of unifying all good green workers on one page.
Inclusivity and collaboration are Green Times founding principles. The idea was never for us to alone source important green news of inspiring initiatives unfolding in our country. Neither are we able to keep an eye on all the threats due to persistent, recurring or new irresponsible actions by those who don’t understand their long-term impact on the environment and her people. In other words those who choose ignorance as a justification for threatening our future.
That is why we are grateful to all those who took up the call to send over news that helps to build a sustainable future, educate our nation and facilitate a mind shift. Yet our tiny core staff are not always able to catch all the mail. We know that we are only sharing the tip of the iceberg at this stage. So much more is happening and this platform is now open for direct collaboration by anyone knowledgeable or passionate and keen to contribute. Now you can get access to the platform and add your own articles.
Communication is the driver of change
Environmentalists and social entrepreneurs are passionate people – we are doers, not talkers. So communication is often neglected. Yet we have to remember that communication is the driver behind the mobilisation of our society towards the much needed transformation.
The time is over when we could simply do our thing and not share it with the world – this way the movement towards a better world is too slow. Climate change is escalating, the water is drying up, and unfolding threats are far too serious. Not sharing is costing our future.
This is one of the last legacies of the silo mentality of the former era.
Now we have to reach out and teach, create awareness, communicate often. Every green act needs to inspire at least ten other people. Those ten will then inspire at least ten others. And this is how a groundswell of knowledge, coupled with goodwill, can and WILL change our world.
The power of the word, backed by action, distributed via the net and inspiring events (also shared) is the foundation to the future. So here is your invitation… apply to become a contributor and write the news yourself. Here is the link.
Calling all experts
Of course contributors will be selected according to their credentials and we will do the final edits and publish your articles. If you know of any experts who could help enlighten us all to live more constructively, please invite them also to become contributors. If you are a student doing interesting research, please contribute.
The world is hungry for knowledge and the Green Times is committed to providing a free space for this informal education we all need.

Cool trip to Zambia
Right now we are looking for a volunteer journalist to join as a Green Times intern to cover a fun journey with Greenpop. They are going to plant thousands of trees in Zambia from 15 June to 6 July. They will also be spreading eco awareness, teach and learn a lot and get active about a sustainable future. All expenses are covered by Greenpop. Does this sound like fun to you?
